Don’t get me wrong, I loved seeing my girlfriend, and I enjoyed every second of her… But I still had to go back to my parents at the end of the night, and they just suck. My dad especially. He thinks that I just wanna come home and do work constantly when he has the rest of the week and all the time that I’m gone to get it done with my brother. Like really? The kid wouldn’t be preoccupied until 8 if you told him to do work the second he got home. He’d be able to fit his school work in.
I never got that kind of special treatment. I would have to go to rifle practice every day in the winter, get home at 4 or 5 or whenever, have to do all my work AND whatever manual labor my father had in store for me. My brother has practice till 5, god forbid he gets on the lawnmower to cut the grass, he has a worksheet due at the end of the week that he has to work on. He can’t be bothered by all that work, so push it off on the college engineering major that came in for the weekend because he misses his girlfriend.
Well I’ve decided I won’t be going back home until Thanksgiving, maybe that’ll make my parents appreciate me more. I’m not particularly comfortable with this, it means leaving my girlfriend alone… But that’s okay. Cause I love her. And I know that we can get through anything. So I have nothing to worry about.
I just gotta sit back, relax, and enjoy college. :)
